Creating an Office 365 Account

If your organization doesn’t have an Office 365 account, follow these steps to set up an Office 365 Business Account trial that is valid for 30 days.

While it only takes approximately 5 minutes to set up a trial account, it may take 24 to 48 hours before the mailboxes are ready to be customized.

Create Office 365 Trial Subscription

Create a trial subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium by clicking here (https://signup.microsoft.com/Signup?OfferId=467eab54-127b-42d3-b046-3844b860bebf&dl=O365_BUSINESS_PREMIUM&culture=en-US&country=US&ali=1). If you have an existing Microsoft Office 365 account, you will need to sign out of it before proceeding.

Office 365 Business Premium service and licenses are required in order to be able to add and use room resources.

The Office 365 Trial subscription link will bring you to a screen as shown in the following figure. Enter your contact information and click ‘Next’ to continue.

Next, create your user ID, password, and domain as shown in the following figure. This will create the administrator user account for the Office 365 domain.

After you enter your information, you will be prompted to enter a number to receive a text with your access code as shown in the next figure. Enter your contact number and click ‘Text Me’ or ‘Call Me’ depending on how you will verify that you are not a robot.

If you are a robot, you likely have a built-in mobile number that you can use for this step too.

Office 365 requires a phone number for trial confirmation.

After you receive the text or the call, enter the verification code as shown below.

After entering the verification code, you will see a summary of the administrator’s user ID as shown below.

Click ‘You’re ready to go…’ and the system will log you into your Office 365 account and start setting up the different features as shown below.

Note, it can take 24 to 48 hours to set up the account before you can continue with setting up the service user account and the room resources described in Section 10.2 ‘Configuring Microsoft Office 365’. The account is ready when you can add additional user accounts as described in Section 10.2.1 ’Create a Service “User Account”’.
